Reflection on my last 3 months

Why I joined a career fellowship program?

I joined Amal academy to came out of my comfort zone and developed potential skills which would be helpful in my professional life. One of the best things that have happened is the boost of my confidence level during interviews and public speaking. Amal fellowship is based on 4 principles that are

  1. kam, kam, kam
  2. khudi
  3. Amal
  4. Ek or Ek giarah

What has been the more impactful thing for me:

I very thank full for our facilitators who present the activities differently way. We are a batch of 50+ fellows and everyone is so unique in their ways and they we all supporting each other

1- Fellows of my batch:

During this 3 months fellowship, I make connections with different people in different universities. The activities and group discussion would help me to work with different groups in breakout rooms where I always forced myself to come out of the comfort zone and come up with new ideas. I receive encouragement from them which reduces my social anxiety.

2- Facilitators of my batch:

The facilitators are supportive and focused on the performance of each fellow. They gave detailed feedback on our PW assignments which was helpful to improve them. Along with the attention, they made sure to solve the problems of fellows to the extent they could.

How is my self development related to people around me:

  1. Discussion in learning group:

In the learning group, all group members participate and share their ideas. We work in the team and follow the Amal Forth principle “Ek or Ek gyarah”

2. Comment on the course:

There are different courses that we have to learn such as gratitude, positivity, Excel, PowerPoint, superhero resume, cover letter, etc. In all these courses we have to comment, solve DIY activities, and seeing my fellow’s responses is empowered me.

3. Breakout rooms:

In every week session, our facilitators break the fellows into different breakout rooms to complete different activities. This encourages me to share my thoughts within a group. The fellows support each other’s perspectives during these discussions which are amazing.

4. Feedback:

We have to give and take feedback from our fellows which is either positive or constructive feedback that encourages me to do better. The positive emotions and pathetic attitude of our fellows with each other are contagious.

Would I have done anything differently:

This fellowship has truly given me the best few moments in the last few months. I have become much better professionally and personally as compared to when I started. I met the best facilitators, fellows and got new friends.
